David has worked in the social work field for over 10 years, primarily with children and adolescents.  During this time he discovered that he truly enjoyed working with this age group and that his time spent playing video games has kept him “in tune” with them.  Since starting New Heights Counseling Services, David says, “I have begun to utilize my experience working with both children and teenagers and video games/electronics to develop innovative therapeutic interventions that meet the needs of these age groups and help motivate them to engage in counseling in incredible ways”.  David loves working with individual adults and couples along with the multitude of differences they bring to the table.  He has found that many adults today struggle with a lack of boundaries and personal empowerment and loves to help people begin to implement these important missing pieces into their lives.

David is the oldest of five and was raised on a rural farm and moved to Columbus over 10 years ago.  David states, “I love living in the city, but there are times I miss the quiet that can only exist away from metropolitan areas”.  David is married, has a beautiful baby girl, and two cats.  He enjoys spending time playing video games, which has shown him just how important it is to understand both the positive and negatives this medium can bring into our lives.
